World-first

Sero-X® - a breakthrough 15 years in the making

Sero-X is a world-first APVMA-registered crop protection product formulated from a plant with exceptional pest behaviour-modifying and insecticidal properties. It is the first new active constituent to ever pass the regulatory approval requirements for Australian agricultural research and development.

Sero-X contains a revolutionary set of peptides - known as cyclotides - as its primary active compounds. The discovery and application of cyclotides is set to transform our global approach to pest control. Sero-X is non-toxic to mammals, non-toxic to beneficial insects, and 100% safe for bees and pollinators.

The product was developed in collaboration with some of the world's most reputable research institutions, including:

  • Biological Products for Agriculture (Bi-PA)
  • Southern Cross Plant Science
  • University of Western Sydney
  • The Institute for Molecular Bioscience, University of Queensland
  • NSW Department of Primary Industries

NEW 2023: Research and Supply Permit PER93075 - available for various pests in various crops. Please note, restricted hectares and use patterns apply. Contact us to find out if your operation qualifies →

Long-term trials

B&B Superfine as an organic nitrogen replacement

Intensive agriculture in Australia and around the world has become reliant on synthetic "chemical fertilisers" such as NH₃, Urea, and N:P:K to bolster production. The effect of these traditional fertilisers on soil and soil biology can be detrimental - and costly to reverse. This deterioration of the soil is often masked by applying higher rates of N - a real catch-22 situation.

Our long-term research programme has been examining B&B Superfine as an organic replacement for synthetic nitrogen sources. The Lammermoor Field long-term trial demonstrates that, with appropriate management, growers can reduce their synthetic N inputs while maintaining competitive yields and improving measurable soil health indicators.
